PSYCHOSEXUAL THERAPY
Sexual problems are common and most people will experience a sexual problem or difficulty at some time
in their life. There are many reasons why sexual difficulties arise and these can be physically or
emotionally related and are often both. Sometimes the reason is unknown. Often the difficulty will
resolve itself; sometimes help is needed. Psychosexual Therapy can help.
HOW THE SERVICE WORKS
You can call CP Counselling Service to ask for a Psychosexual Therapy appointment (or you may prefer
to make contact via the web site form).
An appointment will be arranged for you to attend an initial assessment session to meet the therapist
and discuss your particular sexual difficulty; you may then be invited to attend a further more detailed
assessment appointment.
If our therapist feels that therapy will be the best way forward for you, treatment goals will be mutually
agreed and a treatment plan will be designed for you by your therapist. You will then be invited to carry
out simple tasks at home as well as attending weekly sessions with the therapist. The tasks will be directly
related to your particular difficulty designed to help you overcome your sexual problem.
WHY SEX THERAPY?
- Loss of sexual interest
- Painful sex
- Erectile difficulties
- Ejaculatory difficulties
- Orgasmic difficulties
- Vaginismus
- Sexual Abuse
You will never be asked to do anything sexual in the therapy session
